If we could Just get that messaging system to email the notices that we have a message somewhere within a few minutes of it being sent instead of two hours or so... I'd be happy.

They have come out with actual Programs to help people with Internet Addiction--Hazelden has a 2 week inpatient program for it ---hard to believe, but true!
One way they suggest---especially for people addicted to "e-mail" , is that they make themselves only go in and check their e-mail every few hours, until they have broken the habit and have it back to a manageable entity.
It's usually pretty quick. Are you sure it took that long?
Well, I am a habitual email checker, it happens automatically without my conscious effort...yeah I've checked my mail, nothing there, come in here and read a message and then gotten a notification several hours later after the fourth time checking that morning... Maybe it has something to do with gmail...
