I have been an initiate of Brighid for almost two years now. I have been in the craft for almost ten years and have just found Her. I try sometimes to explain to others what it is that she brings to my life, but I find myself lost for words. This is funny to me since she is the patron Goddess of poets and Bards...
She is teaching me patience, the hard way it seems. I have started a vigil in Her honor and am holding it until Imbolc. My mind seems so chaotic lately that I need a lifeline and this is my way of cleansing and reconnecting. I'm on my fifth night of vigil, which usually consists of reciting the geneology of Bride and some select writings within my circle and speaking to Her from the heart, to try to work out the chaos....
She has brought so much to me, friends, lovers, inspiration...I wonder why I didn't find Her sooner...
The first night of the vigil, She made her presence known by a cool breeze and my energy level went through the roof...it has been the same every night since... The stress of the day seems to melt away and I'm calm, although I've cried almost every night, it has definately been cathartic, I wake every morning feeling a bit better.
